The Bolivian Tinku competition is an annual event celebrated in northern Virginia, organized by the Comité Pro Bolivia. Tinku is a traditional dance from the highlands of Bolivia, which has been practiced for centuries as a way to celebrate the harvest and honor the land.

The competition brings together Bolivian communities from across the region to showcase their skills and creativity in the Tinku dance. Participants wear colorful costumes, and dance to the beat of drums, panpipes and the fusion of modern instruments.

The Tinku competition is not only a celebration of Bolivian culture, but also a way to promote community engagement and unity. It provides an opportunity for Bolivian immigrants and their families to come together and share their traditions with others, as well as to connect with their roots.
